Penicuik archers

National Series 2014

Penicuik Archers will be hosting the first and second legs of the 2014 National Series. This will in be possibly the biggest shoot in Scotland this year. The competition on the Saturday will be FITA 70 metre (Non Compound) and 50 metre (Compound) ranking rounds followed by Head to Heads. The Sunday competition will be a 1440 round.

As with all Penicuik shoots, there will be catering facilities offering hot and cold drinks throughout the day and burgers at lunch time. Profits from the sales is donted by the club to a local charity.

The Penny awards

Penicuik Archers introduced their own distance awards, known as the 'Penny Awards' in 2005 and are available for the following scores:


White: 950	Black: 1050	Blue: 1150	Red: 1250	Gold: 1350	Purple: 1400

The awards can be purchased on the days of the competition for £2.00

Weather forecast

At present we can not give you an accurate forecast, but based on previous years weather in June, it could be sunny, windy, showery, raining, or all four. It even snowed on June 1st (1974!). So when deciding what clothing to bring, pack for all eventualities.
