Welcome to the homepage of Penicuik Archers. The club is one of the largest archery clubs in the east of Scotland, catering for beginners, all the way through to competative archers, who shoot at National and International levels. |

Club fees are due for 2012. If you have not yet paid, please pay them as soon as possible.
Club members Stuart Barby (recurve) and Ranald Hutton (compound) represented Scotland at the British Indoor Championships in December. Stuart topped the overall individual competition in the gents recurve ranking round with a personal best and Ranald took 3rd place in the mens compound. The Scottish recurve and compound teams both came second in their respective divisions, with the compound team loosing out to the Auld Enemy (England) by just 6 points.
Liz Garrian is one of only two Scottish judges selected the attend the archery competition at this years Olympics in London. Liz has already been to the Test Event held at Lords Cricket ground last October. This is the second time that Liz has been judging at an international event. In 2010 she was assisting the Director of Shooting at the Archery World Cup finals which were held in Edinburgh

This year, Penicuik Archers will be supporting the Mark Wright Project Centre as their chosen charity. Profits from the sale of food and raffles at all competitions will donated to them. To find out more about the Project centre, click here.

A special mention should go to Darcy Keenan, who at the tender age of 8, completed a double metric V, claiming Scottish and UK records. The weather was far from perfect with strong winds affecting everyone on Saturday. For full results click here.
<The club will be running a have-a-go sessions at Penicuik in the Park on Saturday 26th May. Come along and try archery, it's a sport for all ages and abilities. If you want to take up archery, why not put your name down for a beginners course which are run during the winter months. Click here to complete an application form.

The club has five qualified coaches who run beginners courses during the indoor season (click here for details). There is a cost for the course, for which we supply the equipment, the coaches knowledge, and fun. At the end of the course you can then decide if Archery is a sport for you. Before continuing, hopefully you will join our club, and will be required to pay the appropriate joining fees. |
